PALL MALL, TN. (THECOUNT) — Jill Peterson has been identified as the longtime Pall Mall waitress killed by a pack of six German Shepherds on Tuesday.

Peterson, 88, was attempting to clear a drainage ditch in the yard area of her Pall Mall home when she was fatally attacked by a pack of dogs belonging to her Evans Lane neighbors Tuesday night.

Peterson reportedly exited her home following a storm to clear a overflowing drainage system when she was mercilessly attacked by half a dozen animals.

She never saw the pack of six German Shepherds coming at her. The next few minutes were a hellish nightmare for the elderly woman who could do nothing to stop their vicious attack, reported NewsChannel5 Saturday.

“They dragged her down the yard and all of her clothes were off, her shoes, everything. They tore all of her hair out, the casket can’t be open, it’s like a nightmare. It’s hard to believe,” said the victim’s sister Nina, her voice cracking under the weight of the sadness you can see in her eyes.

Brown said she attempted to help her sister in the backyard but quickly had to retreat after, “Three of the dogs came after me. They started after me and I had to call 911.”

Peterson was transported via LifeFlight where she was later pronounced dead as a result of the brutal attack.

The owner of the dogs, who lives behind Petterson, may face homicide charges, according to officials.

All of six animals were euthanized following the attack.

The investigation is ongoing.
