PORTSMOUTH, VA. (THECOUNT) — David Lindsey Watson, of Chesapeake, Virginia has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in Portsmouth on Saturday.
Watson, 41, died Saturday morning when he was ejected from his pickup truck following a roll-over crash on Interstate 264 in Portsmouth Saturday morning before 2 a.m.
The fatal crash occurred in the westbound lanes of I-264 near Effingham Street, in Portsmouth.
According to a state police news release, Watson was operating a Ford F350, when for unknown reasons, he exited the roadway and collided with a jersey wall, police said.
The vehicle then overturned ejecting him from the vehicle.
Watson was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the violent crash, a crash report noted.
Police believe alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash, reports PilotOnline.
