EL DORADO COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Michael Tinonga, of Cameron Park, California, has been identified as the pedestrian struck by two vehicles in Placerville Thursday.

Tinonga, 33, was on-foot in the area west of Ponderosa Road at about 9:30 Thursday night, when he was struck by two vehicles, neither driver able to stop in time to avoid the fatal collision.

Officials say the victim was walking on Highway 50 for unknown reasons when he was struck and killed after colliding with two different vehicles.

Tinonga was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the dual impact.

The reporting highway patrol officer said conditions at the time were dark, clear and dry, reports mtdemocrat.

No one cited in the fatal incident and both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with arriving officials, that said, the fatal incident remains under investigation.
