DANE COUNTY, WI. (THECOUNT) — Albert A. Martin has been identified as the victim in a fatal three-vehicle crash in Dane County on Wednesday morning.

Martin, 54, was operating an SUV on County Highway M just west of Borchers Beach Road, in Waunakee, Wisconsin, when he struck a patch of ice and lost control after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The SUV then collided with mini-van which was forced to enter a ditch. The SUV then crossed the centerlines and was struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction on County Highway M.

An 85-year-old Madison man who was operating the vehicle involved sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the minivan had only minor injuries and denied treatment, reported NBC15.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the violent collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
