MOORE COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Brian Downes, of Oxford, Iowa, has been identified as the victim in a fatal two-vehicle roll-over crash near Dumas, Iowa on Sunday.

Downes, 40, was traveling on TX-87 near Dumas when he was killed following a collision with another vehicle in Moore County on Sunday.

According to reports, Downes was operating a Ford F-250 in Moore County, when for unknown reasons, slowed significantly causing a GMC Envoy, driven by Zackery Marroquin, of Dumas, to strike the rear of his pickup truck about about 10:20 p.m. Sunday night.

The collision caused the F-250 to exit the roadway and roll over several times, before coming to a rest.

Downes was ejected from the vehicle during the violent collision.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force injuries.

A crash report noted the victim not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.

Marroquin and passenger Carmen Mata, 21, of Dumas, were not injured in the collision.

The crash remains under the investigation.
