RIVERVIEW, FL. (THECOUNT) — Wesley Weysham Jr., has been identified as the firefighter and paramedic from Sarasota County, killed Sunday morning while assisting a crash victim he happened upon while traveling on Interstate 75 in Riverview, Florida Sunday morning.
Weysham was operating a vehicle when he pulled over after observing a crash scene on Interstate 75, in River View, Florida, on Sunday after 4:30 a.m.
Weysham extracted a male victim out of his crashed truck and over to the shoulder to attend to his injuries when a 31-year-old Ruskin woman operating a vehicle failed to notice the crash scene and plowed into the disabled vehicle.
