ROANOKE, VA. (THECOUNT) — Linda Pierson has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Roanoke, Virginia, Wednesday night.
Pierson, 58, was on-foot in the intersection of 5th St SW & Campbell Ave SW, in Roanoke, around 7 p.m., when she was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene.
Police responded to the area on a call of a person down. When they arrived, they found a female suffering from blunt force trauma while laying on the sidewalk.
Pierson was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force injuries consistent with a violent collision.
Police say no one is in custody and they are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver.
No vehicle description was provided by officials.
