BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Nicole E. Palmer, of Dillwyn, Virginia, has been identified as the female victim in a fatal head-on vehicle crash involving a Albemarle County School bus on Thursday.
Palmer, 32, was operating a vehicle on Route 30 in Dillwyn, when for unknown reasons, she crossed centerlines and collided head-on with an Albemarle County School bus.
“A 2008 Acura was traveling south on Route 20 when it crossed the center line and struck head-on an Albemarle County School bus,” Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said. “The bus was traveling north and the driver swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid the oncoming Acura,” reports WTVR.
Thankfully, there were no students on the bus at the time of the crash.
The 55-year-old school bus driver was not injured in the violent crash.
The fatal incident remains under investigation.
