KOCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI (THECOUNT) — Joshua Rosebush has been identified as the suspect in a shooting that injured a Michigan police officer early Tuesday morning. He was taken into custody after a brief vehicle pursuit in Shiawassee County.

Rosebush, 29, fired on officers, they returned fire injuring the suspect. No officers were injured in the shootout.

He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Rosebush is accused of shooting an officer in the face overnight following a traffic stop in the area of Bay Road, near the Fashion Square Mall, in Saginaw, Michigan.

(ORIGINAL INFORMATION:) Michigan State Police say they’re seeking Rosebush, who may be operating a stolen vehicle.

He was last seen in a 2013 Ford Super Duty with the license plate DB 60703, reports Fox17Online.

Officials say the officer was shot in the face around 2 a.m. when he was attempting a traffic stop. The suspect then fled the scene.

Saginaw officials said that after being shot, the officer was able to place a call for help.

The unidentified officer’s current condition was described by officials as “somewhat stable.”

Authorities urged everyone to avoid the area of Bay Road & Fashion Square Boulevard, in Saginaw, as the investigation continues.
