TEWKSBURY, MA. (THECOUNT) — Robert Flagg, of Peterborough, New Hampshire, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday crash on Interstate 498 in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

Flagg, 37, was operating a Chevy Silverado pickup truck on I-495 in Tewksbury, when for unknown reasons, exited the roadway and struck a tree.

The force of the collision ejected Flagg from the vehicle.

The victim of the single-vehicle accident was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the violent crash, a report noted.

Flagg was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the wreck.

According to State Police, Flagg was not wearing his seat belt when the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving suddenly veered off of I-495 Southbound just north of Route 133 about 6:30 p.m. Friday. The vehicle struck a tree off the right side of the roadway and Flagg, who was ejected, was pronounced dead at the scene. source

State Police said the crash remains under investigation.
