COLUMBIA, SC. (THECOUNT) — Darren D. Calhoun has been identified as the victim in an fatal domestic-related shooting at an Columbia, South Carolina, apartment complex.

Calhoun, 29, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound at the North Pointe Estates on the 100 block of Ripplemeyer Avenue around 10 a.m. Saturday morning after police responded to calls of shots fired.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

An autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the upper body, reports wistv.

Investigators with the Columbia Police Department are calling the deadly incident an isolated fatal domestic-related shooting.

CPD is continuing to interview witnesses regarding the circumstances of the incident.
