WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Charles Shelton, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday night Washington County shooting.
“Rooster” Shelton, 31, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound Wednesday night in a shooting that occurred at 415 Cash Hollow Road, in Johnson City, Washington County, TN.
Deputies responded to an “altercation between parties just before 9 p.m. Wednesday and discovered Shelton’s body on an adjacent property.
Shelton was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.
The sheriff’s office says charges are pending – but did not elaborate.
The shooting remains under investigation and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting, according to WJHL.
