MADILL, OK. (THECOUNT) — Marshall County, Oklahoma Emergency Manager Robert Chaney says at bus carrying 47 illegal immigrants from the southern U.S. border has stopped in a Walmart Supercenter parking lot, in Madill, Oklahoma, to address passengers’ health issues, reports kxii.

Officials say individuals boarded the bus around noon on Saturday having had little to eat or drink.

Somewhere along the way, the heater on the bus stopped working, according to reports.

Temperatures in Madill, OK, dipped into the low 30s Sunday night.

Paramedics on scene say three people were taken to a local hospital, one was a minor.

Due to HIPPA laws, they were unable to give information about what hospital or the condition of the patients.

Madill police say the welfare of the other passengers is also being checked.

They have been transferred to a Madill school bus that has heat.

They told kxii no one is being detained and no criminal cases are being worked at this time.

An employee at the Love’s Travel Plaza nearby said the bus made a stop to fuel there between five and six before stopping at the Walmart.

He told kxii passengers on the bus asked people working there to call for help because there was no heat.

People on the bus told employees there they were headed to Chicago.

The employee says the driver of the bus came inside the store to buy hats and gloves for the passengers.

He told kxii every person from the bus who purchased anything paid with cash.

He says the local sheriff’s dispatch was called.
