OR Man Charles Landeros ID’d As Suspect Killed In Friday Eugene Cascades MS Parking Lot Police-Involved Shooting

EUGENE, OR. (THECOUNT) — Charles Frederick Landeros, of Eugene, has been identified as the man killed in a Cascades Middle School police-involved shooting Friday.

Landeros, 30, was shot and killed by police after he allegedly displayed a gun during a struggle following a custodial dispute at the school before 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

The school was placed into lockout for most of the day. All students, staff and officers were safe and unharmed, reported kgw.

Shortly before 10:30 a.m., Eugene police were called about the custodial dispute at the school. As officers were escorting the man identified as Charles Frederick Landeros, 30, of Eugene outside, “he produced a firearm and a struggle ensued,” police said. During the struggle, the man was shot by police and killed. The shooting occurred outside the school. source

The involved officers were placed on paid leave pending an investigation.

No further information on the deadly shooting was immediately provided by officials.

The incident remains under investigation.
