ARENAC COUNTY, MI. (THECOUNT) — Kevin Schutte has been identified as the Ogemaw County teacher who committed suicide on Monday, according to officials.
Schutte, a teacher at Whittemore-Prescott High School, reportedly sent an email to his coworkers before taking his own life, according to the Arenac County Sheriff’s Department.

Schutte’s coworkers apparently notified 911 after receiving the daunting email that reportedly admitted to sexual misconduct and provided a potential list of victims, the sheriff said.
Schutte said he was going to take his own life because of what he had done, officials said.
Although the teacher taught in Ogemaw County, he lived in Arenac County. That is where his death took place, officials said.
The sheriff said he had investigators at the teacher’s home Monday night where they retrieved computers and other devices that may help in their investigation.
Whittemore-Prescott Area Schools sent a letter home to parents informing them of the teacher’s sudden death.
Anyone with possible information on the case or if you believe you or someone you known may have been a victim, please contact police at 911.
The investigation is ongoing.
“Law enforcement is in the process of investigating this matter,” Superintendent Joseph Perrera said. source
