CASA GRANDE, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Jason E. Rangel has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed by a DPS department sergeant vehicle Friday night in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Rangel, 39, was fatally struck by a DPS department sergeant who was traveling northbound on State Route 387, in Casa Grande, before 9:30 p.m. Friday.
The unidentified sergeant was operating his patrol vehicle when he struck a male pedestrian walking in the lane of traffic, according to officials.
Rangel was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the collision.
He was later identified as 39-year-old Jason E. Rangel. source
The crash remains under investigation.
