FL Man Michael Ransdell Arrested After Falsely Reports Rape To 911 To Catch Estranged Webster Wife “In The Act”

RIDGE MANOR, FL. (THECOUNT) — Michael Ransdell, of Ridge Manor, Florida, has been identified as the suspect arrested after police say he lied to 911 operators when reporting a rape.

Ransdell, 46, is accused of calling 911 and falsely saying his estranged wife, Christina, was being raped in the hopes of getting deputies to the scene faster to prove she was cheating ahead of upcoming divorce proceedings.

Ransdell, who according to Facebook is a former member of the Coast Guard, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with misuse of 911 and falsely reporting a crime at his residence.

Law enforcement cruisers responded to the scene code-3, deputies arriving with weapons drawn.

However, within minutes of showing up, deputies met with the estranged spouse who said she, (cough,) wasn’t being raped. Officials did not indicate if anyone else was interviewed at the scene.

Investigators say he and his wife had been separated for months, but when he saw her having sex with another man on an in-home camera, he allegedly called the emergency number to say “he could hear screams” and there was a rape happening. source

According to Facebook, Ransdell was owner of now defunct, Saddledance Farm and Ranch, located on Ranchette Boulevard, in Webster, FL. And currently listed as owner of “Fix It Ranch,” a computer repair service.

Ransdell was ordered to appear in court on Feb. 1.

Webster is a city located in Sumter County, Florida, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 805. According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2004 estimates, the town had a population of 819, source Wikipedia.
