MI Owner Tri-City Sports Complex Stan Dulaney ID’d As Victim In Tuesday Fatal Midland Crash

MIDLAND, MI. (THECOUNT) — Stanley Ross Dulaney Jr, of Midland, Michigan, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday crash involving a collision between a reckless driver of a pickup truck and Dulaney’s SUV.

‘Stan’ Dulaney, 44, and his passengers, 44-year-old Marissa Rose Dill, of Midland, 21-year-old Brandon Michael Dulaney, of Midland, and 6-year old male, were traveling in an SUV near the intersection of M-20 and Currie Parkway in the City of Midland, when a white pick-up, driven by 73-year-old Gary Arthur Gatza of Saginaw, crossed the centerline, according to police.

Gatza’s truck struck the family head-on.

Gatza was transported to an area the hospital, his condition was not provided by officials.

Dulaney was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the violent crash.

The family members were transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries.

Just before the crash, police were responding to a reckless driver eastbound on Isabella Road, driving a white pickup truck, which moments later was involved in a head on collision with the black Chevy Tahoe. source

Investigators now say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, and said Gatza was at fault.

Anyone with possible information on the deadly crash should contact police at 911.

Officials are waiting toxicology reports.

The investigation is ongoing.

A fundraising page has been set-up by the victim’s family.

“On january 1st, 2019 a reckless driver, in a head-on collision took the life of Stan Dulaney, and sent his wife and two of his children to the hospital where they have had to undergo multiple surgeries. They have a long road ahead of them. Stan was the glue that held this family together, he was the sole provider and now his wife and kids are left to heal, and pick up the pieces all because of a senseless tradgedy [sic] that took stan away too soon. Stan was everything! A great man, father, husband, grandfather, son and brother. We are looking for support for his family in this great time of sadness and loss. Sadly, Stan did not have life insurance, so his wife and four children are left with some financial hardships. Our goal is for them to feel secure knowing that everything will be taken care of. Please give what you can to help them through this unimaginable time. Thank you for your support and prayers.”
