ANDERSON COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Dawana Arflin Fields, of Belton, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a fatal New Year’s Eve single-Vehicle crash.
Fields, 56, was killed around 10 p.m. after losing control of her vehicle while traveling on Highway 20, near the intersection with Cheddar Road. The vehicle exited the roadway and struck a tree, reports say.
Fields was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force injuries consistent with the violent crash.
The vehicle’s single-occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, according to the fatality crash report.
The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
McCown says that Fields was driving home from her job around 10 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, running off the right side of the road. McCown says she then over-corrected, went across the other lane and then hit a tree. source
