DECATUR, AL. (THECOUNT) — Anthony James Anders, of Hartselle, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in Morgan County Saturday morning.

Anders, 38, died, when for unknown reasons, a 2002 Honda Accord he was operating exited the roadway on Indian Hills Road and struck a tree.

The victim was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to a report.

Anders was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the violent crash.

No other details were provided by officials.

Ander was arrested in May of 2018 for “FAILURE TO APPEAR TRAFFIC -SPEEDING 51 MPH IN A 35 MPH ZONE,” according to public records.
