RICHMOND, VA. (THECOUNT) — Orlando Rondell Williams, of Richmond, Virginia, has been identified as the pedestrian struck while attempting to cross Interstate 95 Wednesday evening.
Virginia State Police say, Williams, 48, was killed after being struck while on foot in the area of northbound I-95 at exit 76A for Chamberlayne Avenue.
According to reports, Williams attempted to cross the roadway while inebriated and was struck by the driver of a Mazda van.
Investigators say Orlando Rondell Williams, 48, of Richmond, who is believed to have been drunk, was trying to cross the interstate when he was hit. He died at the scene. source
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
The Mazda driver remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities.
No one was cited at the scene.
No charges were filed in the collision.
