DES MOINES, IA. (THECOUNT) — Henry D. Dameron, of Des Moines, Iowa, has been identified as the suspect who died Sunday following a police pursuit and resulting single-vehicle crash.
Dameron, 24, was suspected of operating a stolen motor vehicle when police initiated a pursuit around 3:30 a.m. near the area of Southwest Ninth Street & Watrous Avenue, in Des Moines.

Des Moines police say officers attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle when driver sped away.
After losing sight of the vehicle, police later received a report of a crash near E Porter Ave & SE 1st Ct, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Dameron was discovered in the crashed vehicle and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
He was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.
Police said he was the sole occupant of the car. source
