CLAY COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Seth Cornell of Kingman, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash in Brazil on Friday.
Cornell, 30, was operating a vehicle before 5:30 A.M. on IN-59 & W County Rd 1350 N, in Brazil, when the fatal crash occurred.
Reports say, Cornell was attempting to pass several vehicles in an IN-59 no passing zone when he struck a small bus head-on.
Cornell became entrapped in the crashed vehicle when it burst in flames.
Responders tried to use fire suppression devices, but were unsuccessful.
Crews tried to remove Cornell from the vehicle, but the heat became too intense and dangerous for rescue efforts to continue. source
Cornell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the bus was transported to the hospital for observation.
