YORK COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Casper Schotanus Jr. of Red Lion, PA, has been identified as the victim killed in an partial ejection crash in Dallastown, York Township Thursday.

Schotanus, whose age was not provided, was operating a vehicle the 400 block of South Duke St. in Dallastown Thursday, when he failed to negotiate a curve and exited the roadway.

Police say officers say they arrived at the accident scene to find Schotanus partially ejected from his vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the violent crash.

A crash report said speed may have been a factor in the wreck.

On Dec. 6 before 7 p.m., York Area Regional Police responded to a crash on the 400 block of South Duke St. in York Township. A preliminary investigation revealed that Schotanus was traveling southbound on South Duke St. and failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the road, according to police. source
