GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Michelle Barrett, a teacher at Chews Elementary in Gloucester Township, New Jersey, has been identified as the victim killed in a car accident on Tuesday night.
Barrett, 46, was operating a vehicle when it was involved in a crash with another vehicle at Erial Rd and Douglas Ave, in Gloucester Township, NJ, around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The single occupant driver of the other vehicle involved was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
A passenger in Barrett’s vehicle was also transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.
Barrett was transported and later died of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the violent crash.
An investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer released a statement saying Barrett’s passion to teach was only matched by her passion for her students. source
Barrett taught class at the same location for over 20 years.
