DE Man Ricardo Lismore ID’d As Victim In Friday Bear DE-1 Kia-Vs-Semi Crash

BEAR, DE. (THECOUNT) — Ricardo Lismore, of Wilmington, Delaware, has been identified as the victim killed in a Bear, DE, crash early Friday.

Lismore, 29, was operating a Kia Niro northbound on DE-1, in Bear, when for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and traveled in the opposing lanes.

The Kia then collided head-on with the a tractor-trailer, despite the efforts of the truck driver breaking while attempting to avoid the collision.

The Kia went airborne before coming to a rest on top of a guardrail separating the SR 1 north and southbound lanes.

The semi came to rest in the left lane at the point of the collision.

Lismore was ejected from his vehicle during the violent crash.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.

A crash report noted the driver of the Kia was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the ejection.

Impairment as a factor in the collision is still undetermined.

The initial investigation has determined that a 2017 Kia Niro, operated by a 29 year old Wilmington man was traveling SR 1 southbound in the northbound lanes of travel, in the area of the U.S. 40 interchange. A 2010 Kenworth tractor trailer, operated by a 34 year old Harrington man was traveling SR 1 northbound in the left lane, south of the U.S. 40 interchange. source
