BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC. (THECOUNT) — William Haight Morrill of Charlotte, NC, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in Buncombe County, North Carolina, Friday morning.
Morrill, whose age was not provided, was operating a Toyota 4Runner traveling on Interstate 40 Friday morning near the Black Mountain exit, when for unknown reasons, he exited the roadway and struck a tree.
Troopers say Morrill was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say Morrill’s vehicle then became fully engulfed in flames.
Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor to the crash. source
