LOUISVILLE, KY. (THECOUNT) — According to authorities, Juvenal Garcia Mora, 39, and Cruz Isaac Garcia, 3, have been identified as the father and son killed as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning on Wednesday at a Louisville residence.
The father reportedly left a vehicle running a closed garage, at a home located in the 9000 block of Plaudit Way, in an apparent attempt to keep warm on a cold morning.
The other child – a 7-year-old girl – was last reported to be in critical condition at Norton Children’s Hospital.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office called the incident a “horrific accident” on Wednesday.
A dad and his two children were found unresponsive in a car in the 9000 block of Plaudit Way around 9 a.m. All three were rushed to the hospital where the father and a little boy died. source
The report says they were pronounced dead at the hospital.
The cause of death of both victims is still pending, but officials on the scene said that it appears to involve carbon monoxide poisoning.
