HATTIESBURG, MS. (THECOUNT) — Tomaka Jones, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, has been identified as the victim found dead in an Oak Street home Tuesday morning. An unidentified female, also inside the home, was transported for medical attention, according to authorities.
The Hattiesburg Police Department say they are investigating the death of Jones, 44, after responding to a report of a disturbance at the Plantation Place Apartments, located in the 200 block of Oak Street, in Hattiesburg, just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
Hattiesburg Police Department spokesman Ryan Moore said officers found a man dead in the home and a woman was transported from the scene for medical attention. A death investigation began at that time. Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem identified the man as 44-year-old Tomaka Jones, of Hattiesburg. source
Hattiesburg police say they are seeking an orange passenger vehicle that was spotted by officers at Plantation Place Apartments, according to police.
Authorities said five people were taken into custody for questioning regarding the deadly incident.
