PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) – Three people who died in a crash on Thanksgiving Day in Pearl River County, have been identified as Shelley E. Rose Asheville, North Carolina, Evans Vincent of Alabama, and 23-year-old Jada Bright of Mississippi.

Rose, 48, Vincent, 45, and 23-year-old Bright, where killed in a five-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday at 10:26 a.m. on Interstate 59 near mile marker 39, according to a report.

Reports say, Rose was operating a vehicle on I-59, when for unknown reason, crossed centerlines and collided head-on with Bright’s Saturn which was headed in the opposite direction.

Rose’ Dodge Caravan continued traveling until it collided with Evans’s Nissan Altima head-on.

As a result of the crash, a Honda CRV traveling on I-59 collided with Bright’s crashed Saturn, causing the CRV to roll over and off of the roadway, followed by a Toyota Tundra that struck several large pieces of debris while driving through the accident scene.

Rose, Bright, and Evans were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma consistent with the violent crash.

Both drivers of the CRV and Tundra, as well as two passengers in the CRV, were taken to Forrest General Hospital with minor injuries. They were not identified.

Mississippi Highway Patrol said 48-year-old Shelley E. Rose Asheville, NC, was driving in the wrong lane when she crashed head-on into a car driven by 23-year-old Jada Bright of Picayune. After hitting Bright’s Saturn, the Dodge Caravan Rose was driving went on to crash head-on with a Nissan Altima driven by 45-year-old Evans Vincent of Albertville, AL. source

A Mississippi Highway Patrol official said they are still trying to determine why Rose drove onto opposing lanes.
