WACO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Harley McKinney, of Blum, Texas, has been identified as the man killed Monday in a crash involving a pickup and a gravel truck, Waco police said. Four others were injured in the crash.
McKinney, 22, was killed in the wreck that was reported just before 1:45 pm. in the intersection of South 3rd Street and University Parks Drive.
Investigators said the 18-wheeler hit the silver F-150 on the passenger side. One person, Harley McKinney, 22, who was a front-seat passenger in the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people in the pickup were taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Hillcrest with serious, but non life-threatening injuries, a fire official said. source
The Waco Police Department said initially it was believed that the pickup truck driver failed to yield to the 18-wheeler while trying to cross University, but later found that the pickup driver was traveling north on University Parks Dr. and tried to turn on South 3rd Street when the pickup was hit.
