UPDATE Wanted NC Principal Richard Omar Knight Accused Of Sex With 12-Year-Old Student Found Dead In Apparent Suicide

GOLDSBORO, NC. (THECOUNT) — Richard Omar Knight, the principal of Dillard Academy, who was being sought by the Goldsboro Police Department, was found dead Monday of an apparent self-inflicted injury.

Knight, 35, was wanted by law enforcement after they responded to a sexual assault call Thursday on Seymour Drive, in Goldsboro, NC. Investigators said Knight is accused of having sexual contact with 12-year-old student at the school.

(ORIGINAL INFORMATION:) A warrant was issued charging Knight with statutory rape, sex act with a student, and indecent liberties with a student.

Knight is not in custody and is actively being sought by law enforcement officials.

Since the allegations, Knight, of Smithfield, has been suspended from the school. source
