CLEVELAND, OH. (THECOUNT) — Lesley De Jesus, originally from Isabela, Puerto Rico, has been identified as the Ohio mother of two involved in a deady attempted carjacking in Cleveland Thursday.
Police say De Jesus, 33, her husband and their two children were volunteering and painting inside a church on Archwood Avenue, in Cleveland, Ohio, on Thursday afternoon when two suspects attempted to carjack their van.
The couple attempted to intervene and De Jesus was struck by the family vehicle – twice – during the altercation.
De Jesus was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.
The horrible crime was witnessed by the victim’s two children and husband.
Cleveland police are still searching for the suspects who fled the scene.
No one else was injured in the incident.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office Friday identified the victim as Lesley DeJesus, 33, of Cleveland. source
