WATERLOO, IA. (THECOUNT) — Danaesha Martin has been identified as the suspect arrested in connection with the May Waterloo shooting death of her cousin, Shavondes Martin.
Martin, 22, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Murder, according to the Waterloo Police Department.
Shavondes was found dead in an alley near South Street on May 31, 2018.
An autopsy determined he died from gunshot wounds.
Authorities say on November 8 Waterloo police obtained a warrant for Martin and on Tuesday the U.S. Marshals Service along with the Norfolk Police Department were able to find and arrest her without incident at 12:50 p.m. in the 700 block of A Avenue, in Waterloo, Iowa.
Officer Joe Leibold with the Waterloo Police Department says Shavondes and Danaesha are cousins. source
The investigation is ongoing.
Waterloo police did not provide any other information at this time.
