BURLINGTON, NC. (THECOUNT) — Richard Eugene Fields has been identified as the victims killed while operating a moped in Burlington, NC, Wednesday morning.
Fields, 55, was named by police as the the moped driver who died after a collision with a vehicle in Wednesday at 6:23 a.m at N. Church St, and S, Beaumont Ave, in Burlington, NC.
Officers believe a 2014 Dodge Dart was turning left when Fields was struck while on a 2012 Tao-Tao moped.
Richard Eugene Fields, a 55-year-old man, was found on the roadway after the collision. Police say he was taken to the hospital where he died. source
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Fields was wearing a helmet, and officers do not believe speed was a factor.
There are no charges at this time.
