TEXAS. (THECOUNT) — Singer Beyonce is being blamed by some on social media for the loss of US Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke.
Fans reacted on Twitter to an 11th-hour O’Rourke endorsement by the singer, saying it was a little too little, a little too late, way too late.
With 99% of the votes tailed, Cruz defeated O’Rourke 50.9 percent to 48.3 percent. Some of the singer’s fans took to social media to vent about O’Rourke’s defeat, criticizing the Grammy-winner for not throwing her support behind the progressive lawmaker sooner.
“Lol these posts a week ago could have made the difference in young voters,” one furious fan wrote, according to the New York Post.
One livid Twitter user said: “I blame Beyonce for this! Homegirl couldn’t tweet a day earlier??? #seriously #fixitjesus.”
“You have such a huge, influential voice and you wait until Election Day to post this?!” one comment read.“Beto needed you sooner. Maybe you could’ve actually made a difference.”
“You came out literally two hours before elections were over. Why didn’t you use your influence months ago,” another one wrote. source
Beyoncé, donning a “Beto for Senate” baseball hat, urged her millions of fans to support the far-left candidate with just hours remaining until polls closed. “I’m feeling grateful for everyone before me who fought so hard to give us all the right to have a voice,” the Drunk in Love songstress wrote in an Instagram post.
