BROWARD COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Flavia Pinto, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75, aka, Alligator Alley, in Tamarac, Florida, Monday night.
Pinto, 23, was named as the driver killed after causing a wrong-way crash on I-75 that injured two others around 11:50 Monday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at the US-27 and I-75 transition, after Pinto drove the wrong-way and struck a pickup truck, authorities say.
The occupants of the pickup truck, Jose Carabeo and Cindy Sanchez Carabeo, of Valrico, were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.
A third driver, 29-year-old Reynier Diaz, of Naples, was uninjured in the crash.
Toxicology tests on Pinto, the deceased driver who caused the crash, are pending.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes east of US-27 at around 11:50 Monday night leaving I-75 northbound shut down for hours. According to troopers, 23-year-old Flavia Pinto, of Pembroke Pines, was driving southbound in the northbound lanes at the time of the crash. source

According to Facebook, Pinto worked as a cocktail waitress at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Fontainebleau Miami Beach. She also lists Weston Lakes Animal Hospital as a place of employment. She studied public relations at Florida International University. She attended West Broward High School.
