COLUMBUS, OH. (THECOUNT) — Ryan Fuller, and his girlfriend, Mikayla Sotherland, have been identified as the bodies discovered in a vehicle parked in the Hilltop area of Columbus, Ohio, Sunday. The couple had been reported missing in October.
Fuller, 21, and Sotherland, 20, were named by Columbus police officers who found the bodies inside a 2005 white Dodge Caravan on South Harris Avenue, in Columbus, OH, on Sunday.
Court documents released Monday say police detained John Jordan Jr., 54, was detained at the scene and taken to police headquarters where he confessed to killing the two people. Jordan has been charged with two counts of murder.
According to the court documents, on October 27, Jordan and Fuller were involved in an altercation when Jordan struck Fuller several times with a foreign object, killing him.
When Sotherland attempted to intervene, Jordan struck her with the same foreign object, killing her as well, court documents state. source
Jordan reportedly moved the bodies from the death scene and placed them in the vehicle where they were later discovered.
