PITTSBURGH, PA. (THECOUNT) — A driver in the central Pennsylvania area struck and killed a young boy Thurdsay morning as he wait for his school bus to arrive. The driver left the injured boy and fled the scene, according to reports.
The school district has since announced that the boy was a 2nd grader at Tyrone Elementary School. The district is providing counseling all day for students and staff members.
The 7-year-old boy was reportedly discovered deceased at a bus stop in central Pennsylvania this morning of blunt force trauma caused by a hit-and-run driver.
WTAJ reports that the boy was found dead in Franklin Township in Huntingdon County.
State police say the boy’s body was found just after 7 a.m. along Huntington Furnace Road by a bus driver from the Tyrone School District.
The hit-and-run driver is being sought.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
