DAYTON, OH. (THECOUNT) — James Johnson, of Dayton, has been identified as the man who police say shot and killed himself inside a Caho Street home following a police-involved standoff on Tuesday.
Johnson, 40, committed suicide after barricading himself inside a residence located in the 20 block of Caho Street, in Dayton, OH.
The official cause and manner of Johnson’s death have not been ruled and an autopsy is scheduled for later today, according to an office spokeswoman.
The man who prompted the SWAT standoff and the second “Signal 99” call of the day for officers in need of urgent assistance was the suspect in a Xenia Avenue robbery, Dayton police Maj. Joe Wiesman said. The man who barricaded himself inside a Caho Street home died this evening of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.source
