SANDY TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Gage Louis Woods, of Malvern, Ohio, has been identified as the Ohio teen arrested on a murder charge following the shooting death of Carrollton man, Jerry Hendershott Jr, in Sandy Township.
Woods, 19, was taken in custody after deputies responded to a call of shots fire with a male victim around 10 p.m. Thursday.
Upon arrival, police found Hendershott suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to a Stark County Sheriff press release.
Hendershott was pronounced dead at the scene of gunfire consistent with the incident.
Deputies began searching for the shooter and worked to locate someone they say had been present at the shooting. Deputies found 19-year-old Gage Wood (sic) of Malvern, Ohio. source
Woods was transported to the in the Stark County Jail where he was booked on one count of murder.
The Stark County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation ongoing.
