GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Bobby Alvin Center, of Duncan, and Catherine Lundstrom Hall, of Spartanburg, have been identified as the victims in a crash on I-85 to a stop on Saturday night.
Troopers said the crash occurred near mile marker 51 in the southbound lanes around 5:10 p.m.
The crash, which involved two motorcycles and three other vehicles, killed Center, 47, and 52-year-old, Duncan, troopers said.
According to troopers, a car in the right lane swerved to avoid slowing traffic. The vehicle hit a car in the middle lane and continued into the left lane, hitting two motorcycles, troopers said.
Investigators said there were two people on both motorcycles and they were all ejected in the crash.
Troopers said when the people on the motorcycles were ejected, three of them went over the center wall into the northbound lanes.
One of the motorcycle passengers was then hit by a car headed northbound.
The passenger of the first motorcycle and driver of the second were taken to the hospital.
Troopers said none of the people on the motorcycles were wearing helmets.
None of the drivers in the vehicles were injured in the crash, troopers said. source
The crash remains under investigation.
