SPARTANBURG, SC. (THECOUNT) — Six people were injured after a shooting at Cook Out, a Spartanburg fast-food chain known for its drive-thru BBQ, burgers and over 40 milkshake flavors.
A majority of the victims were innocent bystanders, and some are students from either Dorman High School or Spartanburg High School, officials said.
The shooting occurred in the the parking lot of the Cook Out location on John B. White Sr. Boulevard at around 11:30 p.m., according to the Spartanburg Police Department.
The shooter or shooters never entered the business, officials said.
Two males and one female victim were transported by emergency medical services to Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, police said. source
Officers say the three additional victims were taken to the hospital by a personally-owned vehicle.
The victims range from 16 to 24 years of age, and all the victims are expected to fully recover, officers said.
At least three vehicles were damaged in the gunfire, officers said.
