EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, IL. (THECOUNT) — Dalvin R. Taylor of Cairo, IL, has been identified as the victim found shot dead inside a vehicle in East Cape Girardeau, Illinois on October 7th.
Taylor, 26, was found fatally shot after Illinois State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in East Cape Girardeau.
The shooting remains under investigation and Illinois State Police say the fatal incident occurred on the Bill Emerson Bridge from Cape Girardeau, Missouri to East Cape Girardeau, Illinois.
According to authorities, two vehicles were traveling on the bridge when shots rang out. One vehicle made a U-turn on the roadway headed toward Missouri. That vehicle was later stopped by officials in Cape Girardeau.
During the stop, officers found Taylor suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the vehicle.
He was later pronounced dead.
The other vehicle fled the scene and is currently being sought, according to police.
Police said they found a passenger in the vehicle had been fatally shot. That passenger was identified as 26-year-old Dalvin R. Taylor of Cairo, Ill. source
