NC Man Found Shot In Elkin Monday Afternoon Identified As Gustavo Reyes, Isaac Hayes Arrested

ELKIN, NC. (THECOUNT) — Gustavo Reyes, of Elkin, NC, has been identified as the victim found shot Monday afternoon, according to Elkin police.

Reyes, 23, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound at 3:21 p.m. on Monday, after police officers responded to a call of shots fired at 125 West Robin Road, in Elkin, NC.

Reyes was transported to an area hospital where he remains in serious condition.

At the scene, officers found a victim, now identified as 23-year-old Gustavo Reyes, of Elkin, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. source

Police arrested Isaac Hayes, of Elkin, in connection with the shooting. Hayes is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Hayes was placed in Surry County Jail under a $200,000 secured bond.

Police do not believe this was a random shooting.
