ALVORD, IA. (THECOUNT) — South Dakota woman, Savannah Flynn, has been identified the victim struck by a train in northwestern Iowa Friday.
Flynn, 32, was on foot walking in Alvord she was struck and killed by a BNSF train headed south.

As Flynn tried crossing the west set of tracks, she was hit.
Authorities say evidence suggests she believed the BNSF train headed south was on the east set of the tracks. source
She was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma consistent with the collision.
The sheriff’s office says alcohol is being considered as a factor in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
