SAN ANTONIO, TX. (THECOUNT) — A family of five was rushed to the hospital Saturday night after they veered off the upper level of a highway, rolling into an embankment before skidding into a concrete wall.
Authorities said it’s unclear what caused the male driver to veer off the northbound lanes of Loop 410. San Antonio Fire Department Capt. John Flores said they don’t believe the driver experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash as he was alert and talking to first responders after the crash.

According to police, the driver left the northbound lanes of Loop 410 near the Interstate 35 interchange, and the car hit a concrete, angled wall, causing the vehicle to roll over before landing on its wheels and skidding into a concrete wall.
“He was in one of the best conditions of the five,” Flores said. source
Police said there were five people — three adults and two minors — in the car at the time of the crash.
Each person was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center “priority one,” which is assigned only to individuals who suffer life-threatening injuries.
According to police, a teenager in the center back seat was “in really bad shape” when they were taken to the hospital.
