LAURENS COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Carl Hurley, of Laurens, SC, has been identified as the victim killed in a head-on crash late Thursday.
Hurley, 38, was operating a vehicle on Indian Mound Road in Laurens around 9:30 p.m., when for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines near Mount Pleasant Road, troopers say.
Hurley’s minivan struck an SUV head on.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.
A crash reported noted that the victim was wearing a seatbelt that may have caused him to become entrapped.
Troopers said the driver of the SUV, a 20-year-old woman from Laurens and her 21-year-old female passenger, also from Laurens, were taken to the hospital. source
The injured women in the second vehicle were not identified.
They were transported to an area hospital.
