FLORENCE COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) – Fred Hopkins has been identified as the shooter in a Wednesday active shooter standoff in Florence County, South Carolina Wednesday.
Hopkins, 74, resides at the home on Ashton Drive where the incident occurred. He suffered a head injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
A City of Florence spokesman said that Officer Terrence Carraway was fatally shot during an active shooter standoff in Florence County, South Carolina Wednesday.
A male suspect is inside of a home at this time, according to authorities.
A Twitter post said that “Due to a high priority call in Vintage Place off of Hoffmeyer Rd in Florence. There is an active shooter incident in progress at this time. We are advising everyone to stay away from this area. We have FCSO along with City PD and other first responders handling this situation.” source
