SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY. (THECOUNT) — Kentucky woman, Monica Gentry, has been identified as the Shepherdsville woman arrested after accused of leaving her two young children in a locked, running pickup truck, while she visited a tanning salon.
After police responded to calls from concerned citizens, Gentry, 25, was located inside Sun Tan City, getting a tan, while her two young children, a 5-year-old and a 5 months old, were outside alone in a vehicle.
Upon inspection of Gentry’s pickup truck, police recovered the children and located two loaded handguns, within reach, one attached to the dashboard by a magnet.
When an officer entered the vehicle, he found two loaded handguns. One was magneted to the dash and the other was sitting on the center console. source
Gentry was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and permitting a vehicle to run unattended.
The children, ages 5 years and 5 months, were safely removed from the vehicle.
